Joan Miro

Joan Miro y Ferrat (20 April 1893, Barcelona — 25 December 1983, Palma de Mallorca) was a Catalan (Spanish) painter, sculptor and graphic artist. The direction of his work is abstract art. Miro is also close to surrealism, the artist's works are similar to incoherent children's drawings and contain figures remotely similar to real objects. Miro was strongly influenced by Fauvism, cubism, and expressionism. It develops into painting gradually. The artist's works become more fabulous, coinciding with surrealism, but without following this movement. According to many interviews and writings in the 1930s, Miro wanted to abandon conventional painting methods and achieve a form of modern expression without following the requirements or aesthetics of these methods.
