Vincent Willem van Gogh
Vincent Willem van Gogh (30 March 1853, Grote Zundert, near Breda, Netherlands — 29 July 1890, Auvers-sur-Oise, France) was a Dutch post — impressionist painterwhose work had a timeless influence on 20th-century painting.
In just over a decade, he created more than 2,100 works, including about 860 oil paintings. Among them are portraits, self-portraits, landscapes, still lifes, olive trees, cypresses, wheat fields and sunflowers. Most critics did not notice van Gogh until his suicide at the age of 37, which was preceded by years of anxiety, poverty and mental disorders.
