Schim Schimmel
Schim Schimmel studied art with his father, William Schimmel, a renowned watercolorist and art teacher. Subsequently, for more than ten years, Shim taught watercolor, oil and acrylic landscape painting to thousands of students. In 1987, he left teaching to devote himself entirely to the development of his artistic style, which is now recognized worldwide.
In 1991, Schimmel's works were presented at the Tokyo Art Exhibition in Japan. The Japanese immediately liked his work, and a year later the Shogakukan publishing house, one of the largest book publishers in Japan, approached him with a request to write a children's book using his work. Since then, Schimmel has published six more books and visited Japan more than 50 times, visiting hundreds of art exhibitions in dozens of cities on the country's four main islands. Schimmel continues to participate annually in art exhibitions organized by Art Vivant, Japan's largest art company.
Shim and his wife Joanne live in Arizona, USA.
