Korky Paul
kOrky Paul grew up in Zimbabwe, studying drawing, then studied fine art in South Africa and film animation in California.
Known only to himself as "The world's greatest portrait painter/dinosaur draughtsman." He is one of the 20% of the elite of dedicated illustrators who still write with pen and ink on paper.
kOrky Paul is the famous illustrator of the Winnie the Witch books by Valerie Thomas. kOrky has also illustrated several other books for Oxford University Press, Penguin Books, and Random House, including collections of poetry edited by John Foster and Michael Rosen.
kOrky's books are available worldwide and have been translated into 44 languages. It has sold over 10 million copies, and kOrky has won several awards for his illustrations.
In 2022, the first major solo exhibition of original works was held at the Heath Robinson Museum in Pinner.
kOrky regularly visits schools, promoting his passion for drawing, and teaches illustration to adults. He is a patron of The Pegasus Theatre, ARCh, Reading Quest, Northern Children's Book Festival and The Stratford Literary Festival. He is also a judge of national and international art and illustration competitions.
