Frida Kahlo

Frida Kahlo de Rivera (Frida Kahlo de Rivera or Magdalena Carmen Frieda Kahlo Calderón; Coyoacan); Mexico city, July 6, 1907-July 13, 1954), was a Mexican artist best known for self — portraits. The Mexican culture and art of pre-Columbian America had a significant influence on her work. Frida Kahlo's artistic style is sometimes characterized as naive art or folk art. Founder of surrealism Andre Breton considered her a surrealist. She was in poor health all her life — she suffered from polio from the age of six, and also suffered a serious car accident as a teenager, after which she had to undergo numerous operations that affected her entire life. In 1929, she married an artist Diego Rivera, and, like him, supported the Communist party
