Graeme Stevenson
Contemporary artist Graham Stevenson was born on June 29, 1958, in New South Wales, Australia. Graham Stevenson began writing as a child, and spent a lot of time studying birds and animals, which had a huge impact on the future artist's vision of the world. As a child, he started breeding Australian parrots, and as a teenager he became interested in the ancient sport of falconry. As soon as his interest in painting began to grow, he began using the birds that surrounded him - his Pets-as models for paintings.
After obtaining a pilot's license, he began to explore vast areas of Australia, photographing, sketching, and eventually creating pictures of the exotic animals of this land based on the collected materials. His reputation as an artist began to grow thanks to the resounding success of two solo exhibitions. After them, Graham left his job and went on a trip around the world, primarily in order to study it and show his work. Africa, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, Mexico, Canada and the middle East are only a small part of the places where the artist has visited, having received offers from publishers who published his work.
In 1988, he was commissioned to create paintings for the book Atlas of Parrots, one of the largest publications of this size in the world. In the end, Graham decided to move away from birds and direct his imagination and artistic abilities in a new direction. Now permanently residing in the United States, he has the opportunity to study the entire diversity of animals on this continent to create a series of paintings and put new ideas into practice. He also draws paintings based on the artist's imagination and romantic scenes on the theme of mother and child. Graham's work is regularly shown in galleries around the world and is always in demand among collectors.
