Foma Gavrilovich Toropov (1820-April 4, 1898) was a Russian artist, still life and portrait painter, and academic Imperial Academy of arts.
From the serfs of major General A. I. Gerard. Received the "free" in 1830.
In 1846 for the work " still Life. Flowers and fruits " Foma Toropov received from The title of "non-class artist"of the Imperial Academy of arts.[2]
In 1848, he painted the Family portrait, which is in the Russian Museum.
Received the title of "appointed to the Academy" (1854).
In 1855, Toropov presented to the Academy Council a "Portrait of the real state Councilor Maslov", for which he was awarded the title of academician.
The artist often combined such genres as portrait and still life in his works. Such, for example, is the "Portrait of the artist's wife", which is stored in the Tretyakov gallery.
His work "still Life with flowers and fruit" (1846) is in the Arkhangelsk Museum of fine arts.
