Larry "Poncho" brown is an American artist (born December 19, 1962). Brown started out as an advertising artist, and also worked in painting and sculpture. He also worked as a curator. His work has been featured in exhibitions, television series, and interdisciplinary art works.
He received a bachelor of arts degree from the Maryland Institute College of art in 1984, majoring in graphic design and photography.
Brown won the Artist of the year award from the African-American visual arts Association in 2000. In 2008, he received the Black Music & Art Award.
His works were included in the collection Charles Wright Museum of African American history as part of the exhibition " Visions of our 44th President»
