Jay Burch is an American artist.
Traveling in Africa and living in Scotland for a year inspired self-taught American artist Jay Burch to observe the world around her, especially the flora and fauna near her home in Washington, DC. Often her large-scale canvases glow with color and warmth, but still somehow shaded and fabulous. From full flower to wilting bloom, Golden petals and the green greenery of summer birds and sunflowers shelter Goldfinches, woodpeckers and the brilliant Baltimore Oriole. Burch's work has received numerous awards, including a grant for outstanding achievement in painting from the DC Commission on the arts and Humanities.
