Josef Lauer (1818, Vienna – 1881, Vienna) was an Austrian master of still lifes of the NINETEENTH century.
He was a student at the Academy of fine arts in Vienna, studying with Sebastian Wegmayr, Joseph Massmer, Thomas Enderand Franz Steinfeld. From an early age, he participated in exhibitions Of the Academy of St. Petersburg. Anna, and then, in the 1860s, exhibited his work in Vienna Union of artists. Since 1861, Launer has been a member of this Union.
