Russian Russian painter and graphic artist Pavel Andreevich Fedotov (June 22 [July 4], 1815, Moscow — November 14 [26], 1852, Saint Petersburg) was a Russian painter and graphic artist, academician of painting, the founder of critical realism in Russian painting. Academician of the IAKH "on painting home scenes" (1848).
Pavel Andreevich Fedotov was born in Moscow on June 22, 1815 in the family of Andrei Illarionovich Fedotov, who served in the army during the time of Catherine, who received the rank of lieutenant and nobility upon retirement [1], later impoverished titular adviser, and his wife Natalia Alekseevna Kalashnikova. He was baptized on July 3 in the Church of Charitonia in Ogorodniki, Nikitsky Soroka. In addition to his son Pavel, two more daughters were born in the family.
